Earth Science & Linguistic Fusion fuses images with structural design and contains messages of environmental nurturing.

The concept is abstract and relates to the fusion between the  natural world on Earth and human beings. Fused together are Chinese traditional elements wood, fire, water, earth and metal  with ancient West African symbols of omnipotence in humanity  and the natural world.

Four corners of the world have been adapted to create Earth Science & Linguistic Fusion. From the Northern hemisphere Egyptian architecture was use to create the obelisk and sand stone blocks. From the East Chinese elements, from the West, West African symbols, and   from the Southern hemisphere in Australia, the body of work was created.

The Obelisk represents a universal transmitter. The top of the obelisk is embossed with precious metal, gold leaf, acting as a beacon, resinating light and energy. Residing in the gold leaf tip are two cartouche, expressing messages of wisdom, creativity and to learn from the past. Four sides of the obelisk contain the remaining four Chinese elements, water, fire, wood, and earth, each with a cartouche expressing individual messages. Water:  Image and cartouche symbolizes initiative and versatility, water being the basis of the fluids of living things. Initiative is to adopt or be adapted to many different functions or activities. Fusion of water with initiative and versatility radiates the message to adapt fresh approaches for the ocean’s, lakes and rivers. Earth: Image and cartouche symbolizes divinity of mother earth. Earth the planet on which we live and the substance of land surface and soil. Divinity is the state of being divine initiative, natural insight into the future. The fusion of Earth and Divinity of mother earth expresses nature’s eternal longevity strength and massive force.  Wood:  Image and cartouche symbolizes mercy and nurture. Wood is used for fuel or timber.  Mercy is to pity or forgive an enemy or offender in ones power also something to be grateful for. Nurture is to encourage the growth or development of a child or plant in hope with belief and with ambition for a long time. The fusion of wood with mercy and nurturing expresses to maintain convicted beliefs towards encouragement, hope and ambition for the growth of forests for future generations.  Fire:  Image and cartouche symbolizes transformation. Fire is the state of burning in which substances combine with oxygen from the air and gives out light, heat and smoke. Transformation is a marked change in nature, form, or appearance. The fusion of fire and transformation radiate the message of natural change, movement, new beginnings, and revitalization for rebirth and regrowth.
Six discs are mounted on sandstone plinths shield and reinforce the obelisk. The six thick transparent discs with images of burnt fiery symbols refer directly to the cartouche’s symbols on the obelisk. The disc’s colour, shape and form reflect fluidity and rhythm reinforcing harmony and balance completing the concept.
