| ARTIST STATEMENT |
| ‘Places in the mind’ is a metaphoric concept. The frames surrounding the images of old doors represent Passageways. The old doors open to places in the mind, revealing abstract images of spirituality, enlightenment, solitude, truth, consciousness, subconscious, knowledge, wisdom and acceptance. The doors are framed to appear as though they exist at the end of a long passage. Universal and historical symbols illustrated in the corner of each frame reveal the meaning of each door. The paintings above depict the symbols in an abstract environment. Both frames connect in unity completing the set. |
