The Season Project, 2015.

The pine plantation influenced my research to explore impacts of European ecosystems. The Season Project, entailed material elements concerning the season from mid-to-late June 2015 in Gippsland.

To trigger heightened sensory awareness from everyday materials, dry maple tree and elm tree leaves were scattered over the floor which produced a crunching sound under foot. Touch was investigated as visitors walked amongst muslin cloth hanging from ceiling to floor at the entry of the Sensory Project Site. Smell was stimulated from the scent of two mounds of partially peeled mandarins and walnut smoke infused into the muslin cloth (evocative of rural burn offs).
