Biography
Leonie Ryan
Sensorial installation artist Leonie Ryan completed Master of Art by research in 2016. Between 2010—2012 she was awarded Masters of Visual Art and Bachelor of Visual Art and Design.
Significant solo exhibitions include Fir, 2016 at Latrobe Regional Gallery, Morwell and Site, Substance and Sensation, 2016 at Switchback Gallery, Churchill. A highlight for Ryan was the group touring exhibition Gippsland during 2007 to Jiu Jiang, China. Another highpoint is Fields of View, 2011 featured at Federation Square, Melbourne. Specific acquisitions include Flower of the South, 2007 to Jiu Jiang city, China and Flower of the West, 2007 to Baw Baw Shire, Warragul. Ryan received two commissions in 2005 from R.T.L. Yallourn Energy, Victoria Regenerated Wetlands and Open Cut Mine.
In 2008 Ryan was honoured to receive Artistic Merit Award from Monash University and in 2007 the RAVE Award for a group exhibition. Ryan’s studios are based in Victoria and Queensland.
